For more than four decades, professionals throughout the world have been training and using Pro-ACT to improve safety and enhance treatment outcomes. Based on principles drawn from evidence-based practice and tested in a wide variety of healthcare, behavioral health, residential and education settings, Pro-ACT is a training program for organizations and agencies seeking to reduce or eliminate the use of restraint.
With an emphasis on critical thinking and continued assessment, Pro-ACT looks beyond the topography of behavior to identify and address client needs. It’s this distinctive problem-solving approach for creating safety that Pro-ACT users find valuable and effective.
Updated at least every three years, each new iteration of the Pro-ACT curriculum incorporates expanding cultural and therapeutic considerations as well as legislative changes. This continual process produces the most relevant and up-to-date training program possible.
Workshops based on Pro-ACT principles are currently being taught in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, Russia, Finland, and various other countries.
